The Dalit community, alternatively known as "untouchables," is among the most marginalized and discriminated against groups in India. Social exclusion, economic exploitation, and limited access to education and employment opportunities are common challenges they regularly encounter. Nevertheless, the Dalit women exhibit exceptional skill and talent. To enable them to improve their quality of life, Agapai provides life skills, including tailoring. The organization has initiated a tailoring unit in Jothimanikkam village, where the women produce gift bags, cloth pencil pouches, and eco-friendly, reusable cotton sanitary napkins.
